BUYER SPECIFICATION
What to put on a machine stretch film purchase specification
A quote for machine stretch wrap should describe the usable film and the wrapper application, not just a price per roll. Keep measured values separate from supplier claims and leave unverified fields open until a sample or production lot is checked.

RFQ FIELD LIST
Send comparable information to every supplier.
Use the current roll label as a starting point. Confirm actual measurements and the application before approving a substitute.
| Decision point | Ask the supplier to state | Verify at receiving or trial |
|---|---|---|
| Film construction | Cast or blown film, nominal gauge or micron, width, and whether the value is actual thickness or an equivalent-performance designation. | Check the written product specification and any agreed test method; do not treat an equivalent gauge as a measured thickness. |
| Roll and pack | Roll length, net film weight excluding the core, core dimensions, maximum roll diameter, rolls per pallet and lot identification. | Measure sample rolls and confirm they fit the wrapper carriage and receiving/storage limits. |
| Wrapper fit | Supported wrapper or carriage type, proposed pre-stretch range and any application constraints. | Run the film on your actual wrapper and representative loads; record settings rather than accepting a generic stretch percentage. |
| Commercial terms | Price basis, minimum order, lead time, freight, delivery ZIP code, sample terms and treatment of nonconforming rolls. | Compare delivered cost per accepted pallet after breaks, rewraps and film consumption are measured. |
The 20 in × 5,000 ft × 80 ga format shown on the BINGOPLAS product page is a common reference program, not a promise that every custom construction is stocked or suitable for every wrapper.
MEASUREMENT CHECK
Do not confuse gross roll weight with usable film.
Net film weight equals gross roll weight minus core and packaging weight. For a like-for-like quote, compare net film weight, documented length and width alongside the measured pallets per roll. Use the roll weight and length calculator to sanity-check the dimensions; its output is an estimate, not a substitute for weighing and measuring a real roll.
ACCEPTANCE STEP
Make the trial result part of the purchase decision.
Agree on a representative pallet load and wrapper settings before the trial. Record breaks, rewraps, applied film weight and load condition. If the film passes, keep the approved roll label and lot details with the purchasing record so future shipments can be checked against the same specification.
PRODUCT & TOOLS
Turn the specification into a useful quote.
See the machine stretch film product page, run the trial checklist, then use the cost-per-pallet calculator. Send your RFQ to the Riverside team with the wrapper model and ship-to ZIP code.
